Early Hardness

Hot Hardness or "Early Hardness" is a new development in paint technology. Few companies have introduced this technology into their paint systems yet, Beckers being one of the few companies to bring this development to their customers.

If you want to allow quick handling and assembly of your product/components you have to go with products that can offer you early hardness or “hot hardness”.
Some of the beckers products, including the popular “539” two pack polyurethane line, contain a blocked catalyst that gives the product users early hardness. How this work is the blocked catalyst is activated when the painted component is heated past 40°C in an oven. When the blocked catalyst is activated curing is accelerated. The product is harder in a shorter amount of time, thus enabling early handling of your product.

Many large multi-national machinery and equipment manufacturers have availed of this new new technology in the last few years. Hot hardness has been an easy way for large scale machinery manufacturers to speeding up their production line as they could now handle painted components earlier than ever before (in some cases within 20 minutes of the compnents leaving the oven). Overall this creates increased productivity and efficiency.

Advanced Coatings is Ireland’s distributor for this new coating technology from Beckers. Many of Ireland’s bigger OEM and ACE accounts have already switched to this system and have good success with it.
